10 Constitutional Amendments to GET Washington's Attention
Constitutional amendments are the only mechanism to make
permanent corrections to the way Washington DC works (or doesn't). Standard legislation passed in one Congress can be reversed in the next. The amendment process was uniquely defined as a covenant directly between the People and their elected Representatives. There is NO role for the Executive or Judiciary.
The process can begin in Congress (it won't) or through a petition process from 34 State Legislatures to Congress to call a new Constitutional Convention. Congress has never allowed a new convention to be convened. We are NOT calling for that here. There are inherent dangers in an open constitutional convention. Faced with sufficient numbers of States demanding action, Congress will have no other choice but to pass and offer to the States for ratification the reforms America desperately needs. 38 States must ratify the proposed Amendments.
The 10 proposed amendments here are offered as a starting point for discussion. Which ones resonate? Which ones do not? What is missing? After each round of discussion and refinement, an updated set will be submitted to Citizens to evaluate and be VOTED on. Once the set of reform amendments is finalilzed, EVERY candidate for State Legislative and Federal Office will be asked to take a stand on each one. Their position will be documented and published for every Voter to see.
