The American Revoultion 2.0 is a call for every American citizen who is fed up with the policy impasse, corruption, spending, waste and concentration of political power in the hands of the elite to engage with each other to address the challenges we face. America needs serious, substantive political reform. We don't have all the answers but we intend to facilitate the dialogue. The baseline starting approach is as follows:

Presidency

• Barack Obama must be defeated in 2012, He is a FAILED president
• Americans should focus less on the personalities and more on the REFORM principles this country needs to adopt
• Romney appears headed towards obtaining the 1144 delegates needed to win; however, he did it primarily with the backing of the elite party establishment and career politicians
• His victory was not earned with a postive, constructive vision for America. It was won by repeated, massive negative campaign ads designed to destroy the other candidates
• Romney's candidacy is about him, his biography, the belief that its his "turn"
• Romney may speak for the $200K+ folks (though in Obama's economy those ranks are dwindling), but he has yet to speak for the solid base of this Nation: the hard-working, conservative patriots who make this country work
• Let's get the elements of REFORM needed agreed to and then pressure Romney to sign on and actively advocate the real changes that are needed to permanently drain the swamp in DC
• Active support of the reform agenda is the only leverage ordinary conservatives have left. We should NOT "roll over" now. We are the ones that will man the phone banks, walk the neighborhoods, and write the large numbers of small contributions.
• We should WITHHOLD support until a true REFORM agenda is adopted by Romney
• The nomination could prove a hollow victory unless Romney takes positions that will earn him the enthusiastic support of everyday working Americans
• If Romney fails to support the necessary reform and continues to look like a weak general election candidate, then we should continue to advocate for the delegates in Tampa to REVOLT and pick an electable, conservative, reform-minded nominee

Political Structure

• Federal Government Structure is not working
• Need a SERIES of Amendments to the US Constitution (retain existing Principles but refresh and update in key ares)
• Amendments are the ONLY way to make permanent, structural reforms
• Action by the State legislatures is the key to moving the Congress to action
• End the policy logjam, corruption, and influence peddling by cleaning out the career politicians and sending them home

Initial Constitutional Changes We Propose

• Balanced Budget (President & Congress must set spending priorities consistent with revenue or be FIRED; no more theft from future generations)
• Congressional term limits
• Make Congress part time (after budget & appropriations obligations are met)
• Checks and balances on Congressional staffs and operating budgets
• Strict limits and transparency for campaigns for Federal Office
• Strict transparency, ethics, and accountability rules for holding Federal Office
• Shortened campaign cycle (govern more; campaign less)`
• Computerized Congressional re-districting (no more gerrymandering)
• Standards for Federal Elections (Election Day becomes National Holiday)
• Removal/voidance of all laws and court decisions that discriminate or give preference on basis of race, gender, or religion
• Accountable Judiciary (age requirements, term limits, require Citizens to periodically validate Justices of SCOTUS)
• War Power clarifications (reinstate a proper role for Congress)
• Eliminate presidential recess appointments and the gamesmanship that goes with them
• Restrictions and requirements for transparent government operations

Current Issues

• Common sense solutions are more likely to be implemented AFTER
• America has new Presidential leadership AND we
• Elect a Congress using new model for public service: accomplish something, get elected, serve, then GO HOME and succeed under the laws you wrote

Strategy

• Grassroots "community organizing" from precinct level on up
• Combining all organizations and interested citizens committed to the principles on which the USA was founded
• Dialogue among citizens to finalize reform-oriented constitutional amendments and issue solutions
• Total transparency of every candidate's positions on reform amendments and issues
• All out effort Election Day: November 6, 2012

• Study the proposed reform amendments; provide feedback; take the Surveys
• Start a conversation with your State Representative/Senator (road to reform goes through 38 state capitals)
• Sign up/attend local party precinct meetings; urge citizens to unite and demand real, lasting political reform
• SPREAD the WORD
